Abstract
The present invention relates to a cemented carbide wear part with a wear surface with improved friction and wear properties. This has been obtained by providing the wear surface with a surface layer with a thickness of 0.5 &mgr;m to 25 &mgr;m, preferably 1 to 10 &mgr;m with an average WC grain size of less than 500 nm. The surface layer is obtained by lapping the wear surface with an abrasive disc for at least 10 minutes at 1000 to 3000 rpm at a pressure of 0.1 to 0.5 MPa preferably without any grinding media.
