Abstract
Compounds of the formulae are disclosed. A method of protecting subjects from infections caused by an organism of the group: Plasmodium sp., Mycobacterium sp., P. falciparum, M. avium complex, M. tuberculosis, M. kanasii and Pneumocystis carinii by administering to the subjects liable to infections, a prophylactically effective amount of a compound of the foregoing formulae; and a method of reducing the level of infection in subjects caused by the above-listed organism by administering to the subjects an infection reductively effective amount of a compound of the foregoing formulae are also disclosed.
