Abstract
An ink-jet recording material having on at least one surface of a base paper at least one ink-receiving layer comprising pigment and binder, with the ink-receiving layer having a rough texture specified by a surface roughness of at least 9.0 &mgr;m when measured with a PARKER PRINT-SURF measurement device (PPS) under a soft packing condition of 5 kgf/cm2, a surface roughness of at least 7.0 &mgr;m when measured with PPS under a soft packing condition of 10 kgf/cm2, a center-line average roughness (Ra) of at least 3.0 &mgr;m and an Oken-type smoothness of at most 30 seconds, thereby creating an atmosphere of paintings or calligraphic works in the images printed thereon.
