Abstract
A glass funnel for a cathode ray tube in which the asymmetry in shape of the body portion is relaxed to reduce stress whereby an increase of the weight can be suppressed and the dimension in a direction of the depth can be shortened.A portion of the body portion, contiguous to the yoke portion is protruded outwardly to reduce stress, and a front end of the yoke portion is close to an open end portion of the body portion without increasing the wall thickness of the body portion so that the dimension in a direction of the depth of the glass funnel is reduced to shorter the dimension in a direction of the depth of the cathode ray tube.
