Abstract
Described herein is a method for preparing an ester by (a) admixing a compound having the formula I: with a base to form an intermediate, and (b) admixing the intermediate produced in step (a) with a compound composed of an alcohol, an alkoxide, or a combination thereof, wherein steps (a) and (b) are performed in situ.
