Abstract
A process for preparing alkanesulfonyl pyridines of the formula 1: is disclosed, wherein R1 is as defined herein. The compounds of formula 1 are useful in the preparation of pyridyl-substituted pyrazoles used in the treatment and alleviation of inflammation and other inflammation associated disorders.
