Abstract

The present invention provides a clay-titanium tetrachloride catalyst used for the preparation of polyolefine/clay composite materials, comprising: 1) a phyllosilicate; 2) a magnesium compound selected from the group consisting of MgCl2, Mg(OR)2 and MgR2, wherein R is an alkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms; 3) an aliphatic alcohol which is capable of dissolving the magnesium compound; 4) titanium tetrachloride TiCl4; and optionally 5) an electron-donor reagent selected from the group consisting of an aromatic ester and an aromatic group substituted or cycloalkyl group substituted alkoxy silane. The present invention also provide a method for the prepare of the catalyst. The nanocomposite materials obtained by using the catalyst have tensile strength of 32-50 MPa and Vicat temperature of 131-220° C.
