Abstract

An organic electroluminescence device contains a hole transporting polyesters represented by the following formulae (I-1) or (I-2): where Ar represents a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent polynulear aromatic ring having a number of aromatic rings of 3 to 10, or a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent condensed aromatic ring having a number of aromatic rings of from 2 to 10, X represents a substituted or unsubstituted bivalent aromatic group, T represents a bivalent linear hydrocarbon group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or bivalent branched hydrocarbon group of 2 to 20 carbon atoms and k represents 0 or 1.
