Abstract

The invention relates to intensely colored interference pigments based on multi-layered plate-like substrates with at least two sequences of layers consisting of (A) a colorless layer with a refraction index n≦1,8; (B) a high-index layer consisting of a mixture of TiO2 and Fe2O3 in a ratio of 1:0.1 to 1:5 and optionally, one or more metal oxides in quantities of to layer (B); and optionally (C) an outer protective layer.
