Abstract

A device for fast, easy and cost-effective de-airing of different shape, size and thickness laminates that comprises a flexible vacuum ring with a built-in longitudinal channel that can be matingly mounted about a periphery of a multi-ply laminate, and a male connector part attached to one end of the flexible vacuum ring, where the male connector is shaped such that the longitudinal channel can slide onto the male connector to form an airtight seal while still providing gas flow through the flexible vacuum ring mounted about the periphery of the laminate. The device can be readily applied to and removed from the assemblies to be laminated, and is constructed to be applicable to any size, shape or thickness laminate, particularly the one with sharp corners.
