Abstract
A method for producing pyrone derivatives of the general formula (I), wherein X1 is halomethyl, whereby an acetoacetic acid derivative of the general formula (II), wherein X1 has the aforementioned meaning and X2 is chlorine or bromine, is treated with a Lewis acid and is subsequently converted into the desired product by means of water.
