Abstract

Liquid-crystalline mediums based on a mixture of polar compounds of negative dielectric anisotropy, comprising one or more compounds of the general formula I, in which R11 is an alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms, and R12 is an alkenyl group having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms, are useful for electro-optical display elements such as active matrix addressed displays which operate on the ECB and/or VA principles.
