Abstract

An illuminating fishing lure having a lure body with a first lure end and second lure end. A light source positioned the lure body and a hook, having a base and a barb, is connected to and extends from the first lure end, wherein the base is electrically connected to the light source. A guard having a first guard end and a second guard end extends from and is connected to a side of the lure body at a first guard end thereof. The guard has a length substantially equal to the hook to allow contact of the second guard end with the barb. The lure further includes a power source having a negative charge end and positive charge end. The positive charge end is connected to the light source and the negative charge end is connected to the first guard end. Upon connection thereof the light source is illuminated.
