Abstract
Disclosed is an ink composition which has good storage stability and, in addition, can yield prints having good waterfastness and lightfastness. The ink composition comprises an alkali-soluble colorant, a water-soluble organic solvent, water, and a cationic water-soluble resin comprising units (a) and units (b1) or units (b2): wherein R1, and R2, which may be the same or different, each represent a C1-5 alkyl group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-5 alkyl group; and m and n are each 0, 1, or 2.
