Abstract
The invention relates to the use of perfluoroalkyl-containing metal complexes that have a critical micelle formation concentration <10−3 mol/l, a hydrodynamic micelle diameter (2 Rh)>1 nm and a proton relaxivity in plasma (R1)>10 l/mmol·s) as contrast media in MR imaging for visualization of plaque, lymph nodes, infarcted and necrotic tissue and for independent visualization of necrotic tissue and tumor tissue.
