Abstract

A parking and/or maneuvering assistance device for a passenger vehicle or a commercial vehicle is provided with an image acquisition unit (01), e.g., a video camera, and a graphic display unit with which the image information recorded by the image acquisition unit (01) can be displayed in the interior of the vehicle either with or without processing. The image acquisition unit (01) is situated behind a protective element (07), so it is essentially inaccessible from the outside in a resting position, whereby a opening (08) allocated to the image acquisition unit (01) is provided in the protective element (07).
