Abstract

In order to design a blast furnace in a space and cost-saving manner, the invention provides for an especially compact blast furnace (10) having no hearth, wherein the burden is transported to the charging platform by vertical conveyers (20) and a compactly designed burdening (30) and pouring bay (50) are placed in the immediate proximity of said installation.
