Abstract
An electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery includes a current collector and an active material layer formed on the current collector. The active material layer includes an active material, a binder and a water-soluble polymer. The binder is a copolymer of (metha)acrylic acid and (metha)acrylic alkylester, and an amorphous polypropylene homopolymer or an amorphous copolymer of propylene and a C2 to C8 olefin.
