Abstract

An organic electroluminescent display device comprising a front electrode member, a counterelectrode member, an organic electroluminescent member arranged between the front electrode member and the counterelectrode member, and an optical filter member with a cut-off filter to absorb electromagnetic radiation whose wavelength is below a cut-off wavelength λk, and to transmit electromagnetic radiation whose wavelength is above a cut-off wavelength λk, has an improved contrast under bright ambient light conditions.
