Abstract

The invention relates to a liquid-crystalline medium based on a mixture of polar compounds of negative dielectric anisotropy which comprises at least one compound of the formula I in which R11 and R12, ring A, Z, a, L1 and L2 are as defined in claim 1, and the use thereof for an active-matrix display based on the ECB effect.
