Abstract
Fabric softening products, such as a rinse conditioner or a tumble dryer sheet, comprise (a) an organic softening compound free of quaternary nitrogen groups and having the general formula (1) wherein R1 and R2 are both hydrophobic alkyl or alkenyl groups independently comprisng 5 to 40 carbon atoms and together comprising at least 26 carbon atoms, L is a linking group having at least 1 single bond providing freedom of rotation and providing a chain length of from 4 to 10 atoms between Q and R1/R2 and Q is a hydrophilic head group; and (b) a carrier for the softening compound.
