Abstract

A catalyst system comprising at least one metallocene, at least one cocatalyst, at least one support material and, if desired, further organometallic compounds is described.The catalyst system can advantageously be used for the polymerization of olefins and displays a high catalyst activity and gives a good polymer morphology without it being necessary to use aluminoxanes such as methylaluminoxane (MAO), which usually has to be used in high excess, as cocatalyst.
