Abstract

Reflector dish having a reflective surface for reflecting incident radiation to a focal region and a receiver for receiving radiation reflected by the reflective surface. A reflective surface support (26) supports the reflective surface. A receiver support (2) supports the receiver substantially in the focal region of the reflecting surface. The receiver support (2) includes at least one first elongate member (4) extending from substantially the central axis of the dish towards the outside of the dish, and a second elongate member (6) extending from the outer end of the or each first elongate support member (4) and connected to the receiver for supporting the receiver. The receiver support (2) is not in load bearing contact with the reflective surface (26). The reflective surface support (26) and the receiver support (2) are each supported by a support means (34) provided generally on or close to the central axis of the dish.
