Abstract
The invention relates to an arrangement for inducing a state of anaesthesia in a living creature and maintaining the creature in that state by administering to the said creature an infused volume of liquid anaesthesia-inducing medication per unit of time, preferably during the use of one or more lung ventilation unit(s)s and one or more infusion unit(s).The arrangement comprises a basic unit (102) with control function software (600a′–600r′) and one or more modular unit(s) (30′, 30, 30″) containing hardware for the control functions. When a modular unit (30′) co-acts with the basic unit (102), it (30′) activates the control functions stored in the basic unit (102).
