Abstract
A method for dispersing asphaltenes in a petroleum product by adding to the petroleum product 0.001% to 20% of at least one compound having formula (V)wherein R14 is C15–C21 alkyl. In addition to dispersing asphaltenes, the method of the present invention typically also increases demulsibility, reduces viscosity, reduces sediment formation, reduces surface fouling and reduces corrosion.
