Abstract

A diffuser (10) having a body (12) with a blind bore (18) having a closed impaction end (22). Fluids are diffused radially from the body (12) through slots (26). The diffuser (10) is characterized by a central slot (28), a lower slot (3) and an upper slot (32). The central slot (28) discharges a first fluid stream (34) substantially horizontally. The lower slot (30) discharges a second fluid stream (36) at an upward angle to impinge upon the first fluid stream (34). The upper slot (32) discharges a third fluid stream (38) at a downward angle to impinge upon the first fluid stream (34). The diffuser, as described above, has proven to be effective for use in aeration of water for aquaculture.
