Abstract
A method automatically establishes a base station operating and maintaining channel in International Mobile Telecommunications 2000. A BS initiates a BOOTP Request to the base station controller (BSC) or RNC through the IPOA channel between the BS and the BSC/RNC, and then the BS obtains the IP address allocated to it from the reply from the BSC/RNC, so that an operating and maintaining channel is established between the BS and the BSC/RNC. A BS can establish a maintaining channel for itself automatically when starting, avoiding IP address confliction and parallel starting problems. Moreover, establishing a maintaining channel for the BS results in an easy and small workload. Thus programs and data can be loaded automatically to the BS, and the BS can be effectively configured and maintained by a remote device (i.e., the operating and maintaining station of the BS) at a low cost, and good quality is realized. The method is suitable for star networking, recurrent networking, tree networking, ring networking, etc.
