The present invention relates to dibenzoylmethane-based compounds of formula 1, The invention also relates to the use of a compound of formula (I) as an agent for protecting the skin or the hair against UV radiation and to a cosmetic and/or dermatological product, characterized in that it comprises a compound of formula (I) as active principle.
