Abstract

An organic electroluminescent device, which has a pair of electrodes, and at least one organic layer including a luminescent layer between the electrodes, wherein the organic layer contains at least one compound of formula (I):wherein Q11 are atoms for forming a nitrogen-containing hetero ring; Z11 to Z13 each independently represents CR, wherein R represents a substituent, CH or N; n11 is 0 or 1; M11 is a metal or boron ion that may further have a ligand(s); and a compound of formula (6):wherein R63 to R66 each is a hydrogen atom or a substituent; X61 to X64 and Z61 to Z66 each is CR, wherein R represents a substituent, CH or N.
