Abstract
It is an object of the present invention to provide a light diffusing member which has excellent optical transparency and light resistance and has excellent light diffusibility despite of a small amount of filler to be added, and a method for producing the same. The light diffusing member of the present invention is a light diffusing member including a base material and ceramic particles contained in the base material, wherein the ceramic particles have a composition in which the total amount of MgO and Al2O3 is 80% by weight or more and the weight ratio [MgO/Al2O3] of MgO and Al2O3 is 0.05 to 5.
