A composition for the oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers, comprising (A) a 1-hexyl/heptyl-4,5-diaminopyrazole compound of the general formula (I), its physiologically compatible water-soluble salt, or mixtures thereof; (B) a pyridine compound of the general formula (II), its physiologically compatible water-soluble salt, or mixtures thereof; and (C) an oxidizing agent.wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are as defined herein and a=1 or 2.
