Potent and selective ligands for the dopamine 3 (D3) receptor are disclosed. The D3 receptor ligands have a structural formula:wherein R1 is C1-6 alkyl or C3-6cycloalkyl; orwherein R2 issubstituted with one or two halogen(s) or OC1-3alkyl.
