Abstract
A printing ink, preferably ink-jet ink, containing pearlescent pigments and at least one of at least one solvent, at least one radiation-curable component and at least one binder, wherein the pearlescent pigments comprise a substantially transparent platelet-shaped substrate having a density ρS and at least one optically active coating having a density ρM, and the pearlescent pigments have a d90 value for a cumulative frequency distribution of a volume-averaged size distribution function with a range from 3.5 to 15 μm. The invention further relates to a process for producing the printing ink.
