Abstract
Metal cord of K×(L+M) construction. K elementary strands assembled in a helix, with pitch PK, each having a cord with L wire inner layer of diameter d1, and M wire outer layer of diameter d2, in a helix with pitch p2 around the inner layer; with (in mm): 0.10<d1<0.50; 0.10<d2<0.50; 3<p2<10; inner layer is sheathed with filling rubber; over a K times PK length of the elementary strand, filling rubber is in each of the capillaries delimited by the L wires of the inner layer and the M wires of the outer layer, and also, when L is equal to 3 or 4, in the central channel delimited by the L wires of the inner layer. The amount of filling rubber in said elementary strand is 5 to 40 mg per g of elementary strand.
