Abstract

Described herein are novel metal complexes, especially ruthenium complexes, represented by the formula (1):wherein L1 is a N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, L2 is a neutral phosphine ligand, preferably tricyclohexyl-phosphine, and process of catalyzing olefin metathesis reactions, especially tetra-substituted olefin metathesis reactions.
