Abstract
An organic electroluminescence device includes a pair of electrodes and an organic compound layer therebetween. The organic compound layer includes an emitting layer. The emitting layer includes a pyrene derivative represented by formula (1), such that a content of the pyrene derivative in the emitting layer is 50 to 100 wt %. Ar1 and Ar2 are independently a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 30 ring carbon atoms. X1 and X3 to X8 are a hydrogen atom. X2 is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 30 ring carbon atoms, provided that Ar1 or Ar2 is different from X2. In a case where any of Ar1, Ar2, and X2 is the aryl group having a substituent, the substituent is independently an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, a silyl group, or a cyano group.
