Abstract
The subject matter described herein relates to a hermaphroditic electrical connector. Embodiments of the hermaphroditic electrical connector and a method of manufacturing the connector are provided. In one embodiment, The hermaphroditic electrical connector comprises an insulating body comprising at least one installation wall and a plurality of openings on the installation wall, and a plurality of conductive contactors, each being coupled to the body at the each of the plurality of openings and comprising at least a pair of a spring portion and a receiving portion, such that at least one of the spring portion and the receiving portion within the pair is configured to detachably connect to a separate electrical connector moving towards an inner surface of the installation wall, while the other of the spring portion and the receiving portion within the pair is configured to detachably connect to a separate electrical connector moving towards an outer surface of the installation wall opposite to the inner surface.
