Abstract

A hair shaving apparatus constitute of: a power source; a control circuitry; a housing, an end of the housing arranged to be juxtaposed to a skin surface; a motion sensor arranged to detect motion of the housing along the skin surface; a hair cutting element secured in relation to the housing, the hair cutting element arranged to be heated to a temperature sufficient to cut hair proceeding from the skin surface; a translation mechanism arranged to translate the hair cutting element between a hair shaving position and a retracted position; and a radiation source, the radiation source responsive to the control circuitry to provide radiation when the motion sensor detects motion in excess of a predetermined minimum quantity, the provided radiation arranged to impact the skin surface for which the hair cutting element is arranged to cut hair with a fluence of at least 0.5 Joules/cm2.
