Abstract
The exhaust gas purification apparatus is provided with: an upstream catalyst section which is disposed on the upstream side of an exhaust pipe; a downstream catalyst section which is disposed on the downstream side of the exhaust pipe with respect to the upstream catalyst section; and reducing agent solution supplier that supplies a reducing agent solution for generating ammonia from the upstream of the upstream catalyst section. The upstream catalyst section and the downstream catalyst section each include a SCR catalyst constituted by a zeolite, which adsorbs ammonia and reduces NOx in the exhaust gas. The skeleton density (A) of the SCR catalyst included in the upstream catalyst section is less than the skeleton density (B) of the SCR catalyst included in the downstream catalyst section (A<B).
