Primers selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 and an isolated nucleic acid encoding the C. Perfringens type .beta.-toxin .beta..sub.2 consisting of nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID No. 27 and the plasmids of the gene thereof.
