Abstract
The present invention provides an anti-oxidant composition comprising a cyclic compound having formula I or a derivative thereof, wherein R1 and R2 are indepednetly selected from —OH, ═O, wherein R3 is a substituent comprising an —OH group; and wherein R4 and R5 are other than H; with the proviso that the compound is other than ascorbic acid.
