Your data
Request a correction or removal
Last updated: 27 May 2026
TraceComp compiles company information from official public registers and government open data. If something we show about you or your company is inaccurate, out of date, or you believe it should not be displayed, you can ask us to correct or remove it. This page explains how.
Email your request → or write to [email protected]
Who can request
- Individuals (e.g. a director, officer or beneficial owner) who appear in our data and wish to object to or remove their personal data.
- Companies that want an inaccurate detail corrected (status, address, financials, sector, score, or a screening flag).
What to include
So we can act quickly, please tell us:
- The page URL(s) concerned (or the company name and registration number).
- Your name and your connection to the record.
- Whether you want a correction (and what is wrong) or a removal / objection (and why).
To protect against abuse, we may ask you to verify your identity or your connection to the record before we act.
How we handle it
- We acknowledge and action verified requests without undue delay, within 30 days (extendable for complex cases, which we will explain).
- For a correction, we update the record or, where appropriate, re-check it against the source register.
- For a removal / objection, we remove or restrict the data unless we are required to retain it by law or there is an overriding legitimate ground — in which case we will explain our reasoning.
- We may add a note that a record is disputed while we investigate.
Important
- The official public register is the authoritative source. Removing or correcting a record on TraceComp does not change the official register — to fix the source itself, contact the relevant registry.
- This data is provided for information only and is not legal, financial or professional advice.
- You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection supervisory authority. See our Privacy Policy for your full GDPR rights.
