A magnetoresistive layered structure having a pair of magnetoresistive, anisotropic ferromagnetic thin-films separated by an intermediate layer on a substrate of less than 50 .ANG. thickness formed of a substantially nonmagnetic, conductive alloy having two immiscible components therein.
